The Real Problem

Helping Landlords Make Better Rental Decisions

⚠️ The Real Reason Bad Tenants Keep Choosing Your Property.

Every landlord hopes the next tenant will pay on time and take good care of the property. Unfortunately, appearances and paperwork alone do not always tell the full story. Many landlords only discover problems after the tenancy agreement has already been signed. SecureRent CMR helps reduce that uncertainty by verifying key information before you make your rental decision.

Why verification matters before signing a tenancy agreement:

Every rental decision should be based on verified information, not guesswork. Better information leads to better rental decisions.

A tenancy agreement is an important commitment for both the landlord and the tenant. Taking time to verify key information before signing can help reduce misunderstandings and support more informed rental decisions. Our goal is to provide a structured verification report so you can proceed with greater confidence.

What is the "Clearance Report"?

The Clearance Report is a live digital tenant verification report issued after the SecureRent verification process has been completed. It is made available to both the property owner and the tenant before a tenancy agreement is signed. It helps reduce uncertainty by presenting verified information in one structured report, helping landlords and tenants make better-informed rental decisions. The report summarizes two important verification areas:

  • Verified Income Information: A summary of the identity and income information reviewed during our verification process.
  • Previous Rental Reference: Feedback collected from the applicant or tenant's previous landlord where available as part of our verification process.
For Property Owners: When a tenant completes the SecureRent verification process, you receive access to their Clearance Report through a secure verification link. The report summarizes the information reviewed during screening, allowing you to assess the applicant before signing a tenancy agreement. Always confirm that the verification date is still valid before relying on the report.
For Verified Tenants: Your Clearance Report demonstrates that you completed SecureRent's verification process. It allows you to present verified information in a professional format, which may help property owners make faster and more confident rental decisions.

Protecting Your Rental Property

Many property owners ask: "If SecureRent verifies the tenant, do I still need to collect my Caution Fee?" Yes, Tenant verification and a security deposit/caution fee serve two different purposes, and both remain important parts of a well-managed tenancy. Here's why both matter:

Income Verification

Our verification process reviews the tenant's submitted information to help you make a better-informed rental decision before signing the tenancy agreement.

Property Damage Protection

A security deposit/caution fee helps protect against damage to the property or other obligations outlined in the tenancy agreement. Verification does not replace the need for an appropriate deposit.

Complimentary Resource: The Free Inventory Checklist

To help document the condition of your property, every verified tenancy includes our complimentary Move-In Property Checklist at no additional cost. Completing the checklist together before move-in creates a written record of the property's condition at the start of the tenancy which helps reduce disagreements over damage when the tenancy ends.

Tenant Default Registry

If a tenant leaves outstanding rent or causes serious tenancy issues, you can submit a report for review. Where appropriate, verified records may be considered during future SecureRent verification checks to help property owners make better-informed rental decisions.

Step 1: Report for Free

Send us the tenant's name, identification details, and any supporting documents relating to the tenancy. We review every submission before any record is added. Unsupported or incomplete reports are not accepted.

Step 2: The Network Effect

If the individual later applies through SecureRent, our team reviews any verified records already on file as part of the new verification process. Previous verified information may be included in the Clearance Report where relevant.

Step 3: Accountability

We notify you when the person has been flagged in our system. If the matter is later resolved, the individual may apply for a review. Once appropriate supporting evidence has been verified, the record will be updated in accordance with our review process.

Report a Defaulting Tenant

Were You Listed? Here Is How to Clear Your Name.

Mistakes happen. Situations change. If your name appears in our registry and you believe the matter has been resolved, you may request a review. We examine the evidence submitted by both parties before updating any record.

1. Settle Your Debt

Resolve the outstanding tenancy matter directly with the property owner. This may include unpaid rent, agreed repair costs, or any other obligations under the tenancy agreement.

2. Submit Proof

Submit documents showing that the matter has been resolved. This may include payment receipts, bank or mobile money confirmations, or written confirmation from the property owner.

3. Pay Administrative Fee

Once the review is complete, an administrative review fee may apply. If your application is approved, your SecureRent record will be updated to reflect the outcome of the review.

These are the real questions people ask before they trust something new. We answer them honestly.

How do I know SecureRent CMR is a genuine business?
+
A fair question, and we respect that you are asking it. SecureRent CMR is a registered business operating in the Southwest Region of Cameroon, with a listed address on the Limbe Road-Mutengene-Tiko Road, South West Region, Cameroon. In-person consultations are available strictly by scheduled appointment. When you send a message to our WhatsApp line (+237 678 467 300), our intelligent verification system guides you through the process, and for any situation that needs a human decision, our team reviews it personally. On the payment side, every transaction goes through Monetbil, a fully registered Cameroonian fintech platform, which means your money is processed by a recognised, regulated company. We are not asking you to trust us blindly. Start by sending a WhatsApp message. See how we work. Then decide.
I have been renting out my house for 10 years without this. Why do I need it now?
+
If your experience has been trouble-free for 10 years, that is genuinely good. But the rental market is changing. More strangers are moving into cities. The person at your door today is not someone your neighbour can vouch for. The risks are different now and bad tenants have also become smarter. They know exactly which landlords check and which ones skip the process. Those who skip are the ones they look for. You have protected yourself by instinct for a decade. We simply give that instinct a system to work with.
What if the tenant pays 10,000 CFA and still gets a failed result? Is that fair to them?
+
Yes, and here is why: the fee covers the cost of doing the verification, not the result of it. When you go to see a doctor, the consultation fee does not change based on whether the news is good or bad. We invest real time and effort calling previous landlords, checking income history, verifying GPS locations, and reviewing documents. A Green Light result protects the landlord. A Red Light result also protects the landlord. Both outcomes have value. This is made clearly known to every tenant before they pay.
How do I know you actually call the previous landlord and do not just make something up?
+
Our entire business depends on the accuracy of our reports. Beyond that, we call the phone number the tenant themselves provided, a number they submitted, not one we chose. We compare the information provided by the applicant with information obtained during our verification process. If significant differences are found, the application is reviewed more closely before a report is issued.
What if the tenant has never rented a house before and has no rental history?
+
A first-time renter is not automatically a red flag. In these cases, we place greater weight on their financial verification: three months of income stability, mobile money history, a reliable guarantor or next of kin, and their workplace location. A person renting for the very first time, with a clear and consistent income and a solid guarantor, can absolutely receive a Green Light. The report always gives the landlord the full picture so they can make an informed decision.
Is my tenant's personal information safe with you?
+
Completely. Applicant information is stored securely and is only used for the SecureRent verification process. We do not publish personal information publicly or sell customer information to third parties. Access to verification records is limited to authorised personnel involved in the verification process.
Can a clever tenant fake their documents and still pass the check?
+
No verification system can guarantee that every false document will be detected. For that reason, SecureRent does not rely on a single document. We compare information from several sources during our verification process. Where important information cannot be confirmed or appears inconsistent, the application may require additional review before a report is issued.
